Ezposs is a point-of-sale and ordering system operated by Ezdoss LLC. This policy explains what information the Ezposs software handles, why, and for how long. It covers the Ezposs POS, its add-ons, and the Ezposs Marketplace Connect integration that receives orders from delivery platforms such as Uber Eats, DoorDash and Grubhub.
Who the information belongs to
Ezposs is sold to restaurants. When a customer places an order with a restaurant, that restaurant is the controller of the customer’s information and Ezdoss LLC acts as a processor on the restaurant’s behalf. We handle order information only to deliver the service the restaurant has asked for.
What we receive from delivery platforms
When a restaurant connects a delivery platform, the platform sends us the information needed to prepare and hand over that order. Specifically:
- the platform’s order identifier and short display code;
- the customer’s first name and last initial as supplied by the platform;
- a contact phone number, where the platform provides one;
- the items ordered, their quantities and prices, chosen options, and any preparation notes;
- order-level instructions and timing information.
We do not receive, ask for, or store customers’ payment card details. Payment is taken by the delivery platform before the order reaches us.
What we do with it
Order information is turned into an order in the restaurant’s own system so it can be printed in the kitchen, shown on kitchen displays, and included in the restaurant’s reports. It is used for no other purpose. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with information from other restaurants.
Diagnostic records
So that integration faults can be diagnosed, the software keeps a copy of the messages it receives from delivery platforms. These copies can contain the order details listed above, including a customer’s name and phone number. They are stored on the restaurant’s own server, are not reachable over the web, and are readable only by an administrator signed in to that site.
How long it is kept
Orders are retained for as long as the restaurant keeps its own order history, under the restaurant’s retention settings. Diagnostic copies are kept only as long as they are useful for troubleshooting and are deleted when no longer needed.
Who else sees it
Order information is not shared with anyone beyond the restaurant it belongs to and the delivery platform the order came from. We use no third-party analytics or advertising services inside the ordering path. Where a restaurant hosts Ezposs with a hosting provider, that provider necessarily stores the data on the restaurant’s behalf.
Security
Connections to delivery platforms use encrypted transport. Incoming order messages are cryptographically verified before they are accepted, so that only genuine messages from the platform are processed. Diagnostic records are stored outside the publicly reachable part of the site.
Your rights
If you are a customer who ordered from a restaurant using Ezposs and you want to see, correct or delete your information, contact that restaurant — they control it. If you contact us directly, we will pass your request to the restaurant. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correction, deletion, or to object to certain processing, and we will support the restaurant in honouring them.
Children
Ezposs is sold to businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where a restaurant’s integration is affected, notify them directly.
